Sudbury, MA

Our clients’ basement was heavily used, but poorly functioning and lacking organization and comfort. LDa worked with the family to create separate, yet visually interconnected, recreation “zones” with much-improved functionality and a cozy, transitional atmosphere. The newly finished spaces include a TV/media lounge with built-in storage and a kitchenette, a game room with a pool table, a new powder room, and a home gym.

Dark metal hardware, elegant neutral finishes and reclaimed barnboard doors and trim contribute to the rustic-modern spaces, which are furnished with durable, relaxed textiles and accented with sports memorabilia. Part of the stair now opens to the media lounge to improve the room’s connection to upstairs, and a new wall of storage is concealed behind sliding barn doors.
