Gumvermint Scenter: Gingerbread Competition
For the 4th year in a row, the Community Design Resource Center (CDRC) is hosting their annual gingerbread competition that is open to Boston area design firms. Partipants are to construct an entirely edible gingerbread house/building/scene on an 18"x18" plywood board. Once all creations are submitted, the voting begins and the firm with the most donations at the end wins the Golden Spatula. This year, LDa wanted to get in on the fun. -

PRISM Awards - LDa Takes Home Three!
After submitting to the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston's PRISM Awards earlier this summer, we were invited to attend the awards gala this past Friday night. What a fun night it was! LDa took home three awards... 1. Gold - Best Kitchen Remodel Over $200,000 for our residential project Ledgewood. Architects Douglas Dick and Thomas Jonak were on the team for this renovation in a historic home. -

Where did you do your homework growing up? Some kids have a reading nook tucked in a corner of the house, others a desk in their bedroom. In this Boston Globe article, World-Class Homework Spaces, some professionals, including LDa's Kyle Sheffield, revisit the the idea of study spaces. The homework space that Kyle mentions is from our Martin's Cove Residence. -

Back Bay Addition/Renovation is Making Headlines
After wrapping up an extensive renovation to MIT's Alpha Theta Sigma Chi house last fall, the building has been getting quite a bit of recognition lately. Situated in Boston's historic Back Bay, 532 Beacon Street has been home to the Alpha Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi since 1919. The inspiration behind the renovation according to Alpha Theta Sigma Chi Alumni Daniel Craig was, "...to put in a good foundation for the next 50 plus years. -

We're back for another installment of our 'LDa's Links of the Day.' 1. Have you heard of the wind-powered Strandbeests? They attracted quite the crowd in Ipswich last weekend, so be sure to arrive early to stake out a good spot if you are checking them out in the city today.
