The owners of this Charlestown home requested a warm, comfortable, eclectic look for their interiors, one that would reflect their fondness of color and highlight collected personal effects from their world travels. Care was taken to maximize the small urban space, with a focus on scale and flexibility. The resulting spaces are sophisticated and playful, comprised of bold colors and textures, new pieces and old.
The living room offers a sophisticated, yet comfortable area for entertaining. Modern pieces are juxtaposed with traditional pieces creating a timeless aesthetic for this young family. Warmed hued grass cloth walls enhance the homes traditional architectural elements.
The master suite was finished with a more subdued color palette highlighted with infusions of color and warm wood toned antiques. A rarely used basement area was transformed into a cheery play area that can double as a guest room. A bold stair runner unifies the home from top to bottom, a playful contrast to the traditional details of the home.
