This waterfront home was built in a unique modern architectural style, but never fully finished by the prior owners. LDa was hired to complete interior design services and targeted renovations that would better suit the new owners and their young family. The décor mission was to create modern spaces that are not only functional but also warm, durable and in keeping with the unique existing architecture.
The home was spacious, but not built for family life. The need for an outdoor shower, mudroom, laundry room, guest bedrooms and a better connection to the yard for the kids were all program requirements. A second floor addition included an additional bedroom, and a back stair and added bath were carved from an existing 2-car garage. Finish changes were made throughout the home, along with new doors, hardware, paint, lighting, cabinetry to set a more refined and sophisticated standard and look yet balanced with the new furnishings and homeowner’s significant art collection.
