As part of the renovation and addition to the entire home, the existing basement was renovated and expanded to create this unique entertaining and recreation level. Designed with a striking modern palette, the lower level houses a wine cellar, bar, exercise room, home theater, sauna, bath, conference room, laundry and storage. The exercise room is flanked by a sauna and powder room, and has a large shower in the back with a glass skylight ceiling, adding generous daylight to the space. The curved, glass topped bar is outfitted for entertaining with a sink, refrigerator, and tap equipment, backed by a temperature controlled wine tasting and storage room.

This area is also home to a fully-equipped, professionally outfitted test kitchen/food laboratory, as the homeowner is an avid home chef. The central island is piped with air and gas, and houses a specialized prep sink. Along the back wall, two flat-tops, a grill, range, three ovens and additional specialized appliances allow for a variety of cooking methods. The “lab” is also equipped with two televisions/monitors and fully wired for cable and internet.
