This stunning yet understated waterfront residence on Osterville’s Eel River is the full time residence of two empty nesters. The challenge set out by the well traveled clients was to integrate their significant collection of existing art and antiques into a more open and modern floor plan.
The house interiors utilize raw stones and wood beams to bring elements of the exterior landscape indoors. In the kitchen, a teak counter and stainless steel tiles coupled with the “America’s Cup Blue” island serve to add a silent nod to the houses’ nautical location.
The clients also requested a “Montana Room” for watching television and to embrace them in a warm clubby room that reminds them of their western ranch. The interiors walk a balance of refined and sophisticated, yet relaxed and approachable. One can imagine sandy bare feet on the floors as easily as an intimate dinner party.
