Breakwater
Breakwater
Brewster, MA
This home serves as a reprieve from the city life to a family of four. After purchasing the house in 2011, the homeowners wanted to improve upon the existing and outdated conditions of this Cape Style home. LDa was brought on to redesign the functionality of the space while incorporating the incredible ocean views.
Some of the improvements to the home include a new kitchen and pantry that open to the living and dining areas on the first floor, a reconfigured mudroom to better suit a vacation home, an outdoor shower and indoor bathroom complete with a shower for dog washing, an accessible guest bedroom on the first floor with a private accessible bathroom, a renovated basement which houses a guest bedroom suite, fitness room and entertainment space for the children, a redesigned master bedroom suite that serves as its own personal retreat and workspace, a re-imagined outdoor space that flows from inside to outside with enlarged deck space and a patio for grilling, and a new guest suite atop the garage.
Since the home was built adjacent to conservation land, additional recreation space was developed in the front yard with the inclusion of an inground pool. Every square inch of this property was utilized to provide this family with a welcome, beach-side retreat that could accommodate guests of varying numbers and needs.
