LDa was selected to collaboratively design a renovation, historic rehabilitation, and stabilization project at the Academy of Performing Arts Playhouse in Orleans, Massachusetts. Planned renovations include a new foundation, basement, building envelope rehabilitation, systems upgrades, a new performance space layout, and site work. A new addition at the rear of the Playhouse will host a new stair and elevator tower and entrance.
As an historic property, great care will be taken to preserve the c.1873 building’s character while improving overall performance, meeting current building codes and enhancing the experience of the playhouse’s audience and patrons. New theater seating, lighting, prop storage and preparation space will help to facilitate the Playhouse’s varied programming. LDa is also working with the staff and trustees to provide fundraising materials and support. Currently In Design.
