Room to Play

Lexington, MA

During the pandemic, a young family longed for an entertainment space to enhance daily life. They turned to the unused, expansive basement to make it an integral part of their home. When you descend the stairs, you now come into a playground for billiards, a family theater, a playroom with a rock-climbing wall, a game table, and a wine room with a kitchenette for entertaining guests. A veritable playground for children, parents, and guests, post-pandemic.

Space for all

Coming through the large metal and glass sliding “barn door,” you enter the fully outfitted playroom complete with a rock climbing wall and hanging swing.

A pop of color makes a splash

An unexpected pop of blue felt adds vibrancy and a fun splash to the game room space. The space under the stairs was designed for maximum utility and was converted into a wine storage area.
