Upon completing a two year professional posting to Japan, a Cambridge family of three returned to this Harvard Square condo they have owned for 12 years with the goal of radically renovating the kitchen and all three bathrooms to evoke the sleek, material-rich modernism of their Tokyo apartment.
Impressed by our work in their neighbors’ unit, the family engaged LDa to infuse their eat-in kitchen, master bath, powder room and guest bath with a blend of Japanese and European materials and details. The centerpiece of the avid cooks’ kitchen is a 15’ stainless steel-topped island that supports dining at one end and meal prep at the other, with plenty of space in between for homework, a wine tasting, or a multiple-course buffet. The three bathrooms were revitalized with new paint, finishes, tile and unique features.
