LDa was asked to create highly contemporary living space that created an interesting dialogue with the traditional detailing of an existing 1870’s single family French mansard home. A new open family kitchen was created out of a warren of small, poorly day lit spaces. Similarly, a new master bath retreat was carved out of a quirky collection of hallway, bath and storage spaces. Natural wood, stainless steel and translucent glass is set against clean white on white restored plaster and wood trim emphasizing counterpoint over continuity.
