As part of an overall renovation, LDa was brought on board to define an interior direction and select materials, paint, lighting, soft goods and furnishings. Our client, a successful artist, needed her home to act as a gallery of sorts, showcasing her work and significant art collection. The design concept is clean and monochromatic with white walls that serve as backdrop, layered with grays and blacks, and targeted pops of bright colors. The furniture selections were a blend of traditional antique furnishings and clean-lined modern and mid-century pieces, balancing the home’s history and new aesthetic. When possible the original architectural details of the home were preserved or replaced in kind.
